The MWC 100m / 330ft water-resistant G10 models in stainless steel are among our longest-established G10/GS series watches. Featuring a highly scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and an incredible 10-year battery life, this G10/98 Specification watch traces its origins back to our earliest G10 designs in the 1980s. This model is completely updated, and few other General Service watches currently in production can match its specifications.
MWC is currently the only contractor producing NATO specification infantry watches that meet a specific water resistance rating of 100m / 330ft, compared to the standard 30m or 50m (99ft or 165ft) ratings of other manufacturers.
The screw-down crown and screw caseback greatly improve water resistance, while the Ronda 715li movement with a 10-year battery life significantly reduces maintenance requirements. The watch has a sandblasted non-reflective case, a process historically used on many military watches but not widely employed since the 1990s. Although more costly to manufacture, this finish offers the best non-reflective characteristics, superior to both standard brushed or satin stainless steel cases.
When we secured a contract to produce this model, the specifications required it to be covert, with a screw caseback, 100m water resistance, sapphire crystal, and screw-down crown. The result is a low-maintenance and highly durable timepiece.
The watch is supplied with both a current issue grey NATO webbing strap and a black NATO strap. We also offer a wide range of additional straps in other colors if you wish to purchase another option.
The back of the case bears various contract markings in addition to the unique serial number.

Many customers ask about the benefits of sapphire crystal over a standard mineral crystal. Synthetic sapphire is the best material for watch crystals due to its exceptional strength, shatter resistance, and scratch resistance. These characteristics make it ideal for military and security personnel, police officers, and individuals with active outdoor lifestyles, who comprise over 70% of our customers.
When accidents result in cracked crystals, over 90% involve watches with mineral glass crystals. Even hardened mineral crystals do not compare to sapphire for durability under adverse conditions. Sapphire crystals are strong because they undergo a heat-treatment process that removes internal stresses, which can cause weakness. After manufacturing, the sapphire glass is made into watch crystals, and two layers of anti-reflective coating are applied. Interestingly, sapphire crystal is now used on the latest iPhones. Despite its higher cost, sapphire crystal is typically found only in higher-end watches.
